Middle School Dance February 3rd 2017

The Middle School Winter Dance will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 7-9 in the gym. Volunteers are still needed to sell tickets during lunch, donate snacks and water and volunteer at the dance. To help out, please sign up here.

Pasta for Pennies

The middle school student council is beginning its fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma foundation. There are white collection boxes in each classroom, and at the end of three weeks, the class that collects the most money will win an Olive Garden’s Pasta lunch. Ask your teacher which period they are collecting in.

January 17th – The 8th Grade Formal planning committee will be meeting on Tuesday, January 17th at 7pm at the Panera on Kirkwood Highway. Please join us as we begin the process of planning for the event which will take place on May 12, 2017.

Mascot selection– We are ready to move forward with selecting a new mascot and we need your help. Our committee began with more than thirty possibilities, worked with the Delaware Native American community, and narrowed the finalists to three.  These choices are posted throughout the school and on our website to assist you in making your decision. All students (middle and high school) will vote on-line between January 23rd and January 25th. See the Conrad website or your English teachers for further information.

SAT Prep after-school: are you interested in getting ready for the SAT”s? An SAT prep group will begin meeting on Tuesday afternoons from 2:35-4:20 in the library. If interested, please sign up on library door or see Ms. Dean for more information. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Winter Ball: join us for a magical night behind the mask at this year’s Masquerade Ball on Friday, Feb. 10th from 7-10 pm in the gym. Tickets will be on sale for $15 from Jan. 30th until Feb. 10th at all high school lunches. All high schoolers are welcome to attend.

YEARBOOKS! – Middle and high school editions of the yearbook are now on sale at www.Jostens.com.  Check the school website for links to the yearbook you wish to purchase.    Right now the middle school edition is only $35 while the high school edition is $80.  Order now before the prices go up on January 27th.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Swain in room 217.

Reminder – the Choice Application deadline is January 11th at 4:00 pm. All 8th grade students wishing to remain at Conrad for high school MUST apply for high school admission which includes submitting the District Choice Application.

Next PTO Meeting

January’s PTO meeting  – this Thursday, January 12th in the Library at 7:00 pm. The staff presenter will be Dr. Barbara Prillaman our Social Studies Department Chair.

Conrad Biomedical Sciences B+ Foundation Fundraising Dinner.

January 15th (Sunday) –   In an effort to support the families affected by Childhood Cancer, Conrad Schools of Science Biomed Pathway is teaming up with the B+ Foundation to create an evening out for you and your family. Our Biomed Seniors will be hosting a dinner to help raise money for the B+ Foundation. Jimmy Hudson and Dom Wayne will be providing acoustic entertainment throughout the event. We will have raffle items and other opportunities to support our fundraiser. Price of admission for adults will be $20, while children 7&under are $10. Ages 3&under are free to attend.

Hors D’oeuvres: Pigs in Blanket, Bruschetta, Bread and Butter (Served by Biomed Students)

Starters: Salad Bar, Cheese and Crackers (Station to help yourself)

Main Course: Pasta Bar (ziti,tortellini, meatballs), Sandwiches (meatballs, roast beef, subs) (Station to help yourself)

Kids: Pizza, mac and cheese (Served by Biomed Students)

Senior Disney Trip: There are a few spots left for the Senior Disney trip. The absolute final deadline to register is January 15. So, if you are interested, please see Mrs. Blanco as soon as possible.

Spring Break 2018: Not sure what to do during Spring Break of 2018?? Come with the International Travel Club to Italy and Spain. Experience Rome, Florence, and Barcelona.
