CSS PTO News You Can Use Nov 20th

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month (October) – Kathryn Munda. She won a $10 gift card to Rite Aid.

Interested in a chance to win a $10 gift card? Volunteer at a PTO event and you will automatically be eligible to win. Winners are randomly selected at the PTO monthly meeting (elected PTO Board members are not eligible).

Box Tops

Thank you to everyone that sent in box tops. Submissions and store receipts totaled $214.40.

Choice Open House

Thank you to the volunteers who have signed up to help. All current 8th grade students wishing to remain at Conrad Schools of Science for high school must fill out the Choice Application http://redclay.schoolwires.net/Page/1679.

PTO December Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 in the Library. The staff speaker will be Ms. Maureen Olejar – Careers Department Chair.

Pride Day

Have you visited the school campus since School Pride Day on October 25th? Student and teacher volunteers spent an afternoon planting and cleaning up the campus. A special thank you to Mr. McFarland and a group of his students for creating a special area around the Olivia Hanning memorial bench out front. Thank you to Dr. Prillaman for organizing the day. The PTO is proud to provide financial support for this annual school beautification day.

Food Drive

Due to the limited number of school days in November, the Students in Action Club will be holding their annual Food Drive from Monday, November 28th to Friday, December 16th. The goal is 3,500 canned and boxed goods. As you shop and prepare for Thanksgiving, consider purchasing some extra supplies to donate to this great cause. When the goal is reached, the entire school will receive 3 dress down days. The food will be donated to the local community for the holiday season. Spirit Wear

Spirit Wear will be sold on Wednesday, November 30th from 2:30-5:30 in the Library during Give to Liv, Saturday, December 10th during Choice Interviews and again on Tuesday, December 13th at the Band/Chorus concert. Stop by and stock up on gifts. If you are in need of items and unable to come in person, contact Grace Logemann at logemann.grace@gmail.com.

Last year we lost a valuable member of our 6th grade team, Olivia Hannig. Her family started a scholarship in her memory. Please join us for a fundraiser to support the scholarship fund on Wednesday, November 30th from 2:30-5:30 pm in the library. It is called Give to Liv. All participating vendors will be donating a portion of their sales to the scholarship fund.

The PTO will be selling spirit wear and refreshments. So come out and get a start on holiday shopping while giving to a great cause.  Please see flyer for more information.

Thank you to our Homecoming volunteers – Vickie Beam, Pam and Bob Wunder, Tonia Tussie, Deanna Ransom, Beth Morrill, Trudy Mandonado, Grace Logemann, Andrea Kidwell, Greg Greenzweig, Susan Jones, Trish Jacobs, Heather Fisher, Deb Hersch, Bob Custin, Lisa Cosner, Jen Clemens, Rose Burnham, Nancy Best and Valerie Brown.

Our volunteers from October (including Middle School dance) will be eligible for a $10 gift card. Drawing will be held at the PTO meeting on Thursday, November 10th at 7:00 pm in the Library. Our staff speaker this month will be Mr. Fran Gregor – 8th Grade Team Leader.

Thank you to all our families and teachers that participated in our membership drive. Congratulations to Ms. Dorda (MS) and Ms. Northshield (HS). Their first period classes will receive a class breakfast for having the highest percentage of student participation.

Alumni Craft Show

Alumni Craft Show will be Saturday, October 29th in the Gym from 9 am – 3 pm.

Box Tops

The last date for us send in box tops for 2016 is October 27th.  If you are collecting box top please take them to the Main Office by 2:30 PM on October 27th 2016.

 

 

CSS PTO News You Can Use Oct 9th

Looking for a mid-week cooking break? Enjoy lunch or dinner at Party Pizza on Wednesdays in October and they will donate a portion of their sales to Conrad’s Girls Volleyball team. Present this flyer at the time of order or pickup. Thank you for supporting our program!

Thank you to all of our Middle School dance volunteers. We could not have put together a great dance without your help.

Upcoming events:

PTO Meeting  – The next PTO meeting is this Thursday, October 13th @ 7:00 in the Library. We will be voting on our budget for this year.  Also, the staff speaker will be Mandy Gillin – World Language Department Chair.

Alumni Craft Show – Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Homecoming Dance – Saturday, 10/15.

As 10/9/2016  the senior class advisor, Kim Dorda, is seeking help from the high school parents for the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, 10/15. The following are being requested:

1. Assistance decorating the gym on Saturday, 10/15 between 2-6 p.m. Large cardboard ships need to be assembled.

2. Donations of bottled water are needed for the dance.

3. Chaperones – parents/guardians are needed to help out.

Please email the junior class advisor, Beth Blohm, at beth.blohm@redclay.k12.de.us to let her know how you can help and to obtain further info.
